Meet our new developers
Anders is a fast growing company and we have been efficient in recruitments. Within a year we have had 10 new employees and 6 of them are trainee or junior developers. Johanna, our marketing manager, invited the developers to a round table for an interview. Five out of the six new developers, Pauliina, Daniel, Deepak, Asko and Ilkka, gathered to Turku this week for a long lunch, talk and photo shoot. Igor is currently working in a project to City of Helsinki and spends the days in their premises.

Why did you come to work at Anders?
Anders had a pretty good choice of technologies in use, exactly the ones I was looking for: Python/Django + React. The promo videos on our website gave a feeling, that as a company Anders if super-duper cool and creative, which is 100 % true.
What do you do here?
Do both, but mostly backend tasks. I find it a huge plus, that we have so many different projects going on, you get a chance to develop a well-rounded experience, helps you understand the world of technology so much better.
What is the best thing working here?
The atmosphere of freedom and support. You are encouraged to take initiative and you feel that you will always get assistance in any imaginable situation, super nice colleagues are always there to help.
What do you look forward to your career?
Coding is a creative trade. The joy of making something work and live on the webs is absolutely fantastic. With more experience you can create more and more beautifully complex things, which makes you super happy and satisfied with your work.
Motto? “Think it, code it, enjoy it” (never told that to myself ever, but if there should be a motto…)

At this moment I do everything I can get my hands on, to learn as much as possible. I’ve noticed that you can always get the tasks you want to do, by just working as a team and discussing ahead of things.

Why did you come to work at Anders?
I wanted to have experience with coding beyond the class lectures and assignments. I was very interested to know that they use Python a lot as a programming language for software development, which I like very much. So I applied and here I am.
What do you do here?
I am learning both backend and frontend. However my current focus is mostly on learning the product development techniques, coding styles and best practices from our senior developers.
What is the best thing working here?
As a trainee I am glad that senior developers here always have time for my questions. The work environment is very good & relaxed, with friendly and helpful colleagues. We have lots of fun here except coding.
What do you look forward to your career?
I am working towards becoming a fullstack developer. Anders is a very good fit for me since I am learning both backend and frontend here.

Why did you come to work at Anders?
I actually got tipped about Anders by a friend, and after some quick information gathering (and watching the recruiting video ofc) decided to apply.
What do you do here?
So far I have only worked in one project. Whether I’m going to actually focus more on front or backend is still quite undecided, in my first project I did both.
What is the best thing working here?
So far I have enjoyed the overall easygoing atmosphere and the chance to work with highly skilled people with way more experience in the field than I myself posses.
What do you look forward to your career?
Currently I simply want to improve myself as a developer, and for that I think Anders is an excellent place. While software development is something I want to keep working with for ages to come, I want to keep an open mind on how my career will actually form.
