Free VoIP Test from Bandwidth.com
I wrote and released a VoIP Test for Bandwidth.com which tests bi-directional transfer rates, common VoIP ports and latency from within a web browser. Similar to the Speed Test released previously, the VoIP Test is a Java applet that runs in a web browser and aims to arm the typical small to medium business user with a general picture of their VoIP compatibility.
Various media outlets have covered the story.

As mentioned by some of the above, this release coincides with a Savatar study pointing out that SMBs are currently underserved in the market. (PDF) The point of the Bandwidth.com VoIP Test is to make testing for VoIP compatibility as painless and simple as possible. However, Russel Shaw of ZDNet begs "Have mercy, Bandwidth.com. You really know how to hurt a geek. I call for T-1 now." I was laughing.
Probably the most unique thing that this test does that others don't is test upload and download capacity at exactly the same time. Frequently DSL and Cable connections will restrict their download capacity while an upload is in progress so this test gives much more of a "real world idea" of the VoIP capacity of a particular Internet connection. Generally business Internet connections like T1s will perform much better with a bi-directional transfer test like this.
Please let me know your experience with the VoIP Test and let me know about any suggestions you may have.
